Is there a plan to up the API version from 2019-09-09 that the plugin hardcodes for the backend to the latest (2020-08-27)?

Also, the frontend of the plugin uses the account default vs a specific version. Is there a way to tell it to use a specific API Version? We’d like to test that it works before we bump up our accounts default API Version.

    https://stripe.com/docs/upgrades?since=2017-08-15#how-can-i-upgrade-my-api

i.e. “When performing an API upgrade, make sure that you specify the API version that you’re integrating against in your code instead of relying on your account’s default API version. To test a newer version for API calls, set the Stripe-Version header (in live or test mode).”

There’s an open issue for this in our repository here:

    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/issues/1207

Our developers have assigned it a Low priority, so it’s on our radar at least, but not something urgent.

Please follow along at the link above for updates. ?? Thanks!

What does this mean if we just want payments via WooCommerce and Stripe work reliably?

I’m asking because at the Stripe dashboard I am always seeing a reminder to upgrade to the latest API version. It’s looking like this:

    Upgrade available
    2020-08-27 (newest) 0 %
    2020-03-02 (standard) 08.10 15 %
    2019-09-09 08.10 85 %

Should I always upgrade the Stripe dashboard to the newest version?
