We are using plugin version 9.2.0 + Woocommerce 9.6.1 and like 10% of orders using Przelewy24 payments are failing with the following error:
“Stripe SCA authentication failed. Reason: The latest payment attempt for the PaymentIntent has expired.”
Przelewy24 redirects customers to their website to authenticate a payment so the above error happens like 1 hour after the Stripe payment intent is created.

One customer said this though:
“There must have been a problem with the Przelewy24 website, because I paid for the order, but the transaction amount was not charged or was declined. How can I go back to pay for the order again?”

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Hi @mihai200,

The issue you’re facing appears to be related to Przelewy24. By default, a Stripe PaymentIntent expires after 24 hours, but certain payment methods, such as Przelewy24, may have shorter time limits, you can contact Przelewy24 for more details on this.

Next, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory and check if the Hold Stock (minutes) option is enabled. If it is, try increasing it to a higher value.

Keep in mind that the Hold Stock (minutes) setting controls order cancellations for unpaid orders, mainly affecting stock management, and does not directly impact Stripe PaymentIntent expiration.

Could you share your system status report by navigating to WooCommerce > Status > Get Report > Copy for Support? Additionally, check the logs tab for any fatal errors or logs related to the Stripe plugin.

Lastly, please provide a screenshot of the order notes for one of the failed transactions.

In WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory??I have Hold Stock (minutes) =. 60 minutes and the Stripe PaymentIntent for Przelewy24 always expires after 60 minutes on my website.

I also have activated Debug mode in Stripe plugin and I see no errors in plugin logs.

I ve forget include the order notes for an order with this kind of issues:
- Stripe SCA authentication failed. Reason: The latest payment attempt for the PaymentIntent has expired. Provide a new payment method to attempt to fulfill this PaymentIntent again. Order status changed from Pending Payment to Failed.March 12, 2025 at 1:11 pm
- Stripe payment intent created (payment intent id: pi_blahblahblah) March 12, 2025 at 11:53 am

I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with Przelewy24 (P24) payments on your WooCommerce store. The error message you’re seeing—“Stripe SCA authentication failed. Reason: The latest payment attempt for the PaymentIntent has expired.”—indicates that the PaymentIntent associated with the transaction expired before the payment could be completed.

One possible reason for the orders being canceled could be that your WooCommerce settings have stock held for 60 minutes. If a customer doesn’t complete their payment within that timeframe, the order may fail, and the stock is released back to inventory. Alternatively, the payment could have been declined for this particular user. Since the payment wasn’t completed, the order is either failed or canceled as expected, but there could also be a delay in communication with WooCommerce.

In that case, I recommend clearing the “Hold Stock” value to disable it temporarily and see if that helps resolve the issue.

Regarding your question, “How can I go back to pay for the order again?”

You will see a link labeled “Customer Payment Page” that you can send to your customers, allowing them to complete the payment again.

I also noticed that you have quite a few plugins activated on your site—over 62. To troubleshoot this further, I’d suggest creating a staging site using the WP Staging plugin and running a conflict test, as outlined in this guide.
