Stripe SEPA for site with USD and EURO

We are looking into utilizing Stripe SEPA. Currently our default currency is US dollars.

If I enable that payment option, we then see a warning message of: Stripe SEPA Direct Debit is enabled – it requires store currency to be set to EUR

If we change the shop to EUR , do we have to go through every product and change it to USD where we are selling in USD?

To use Stripe SEPA Direct Debit, your store currency indeed needs to be set to EUR. Stripe SEPA is designed to work with Euros (EUR) as it’s a European payment method.

If you enable SEPA and change your store currency to EUR and a customer from the US visits your store, they’ll see prices in EUR and not USD.

Yes, you are correct here since the default currency is set to EUR. Regardless of what country or location your customer comes from, they will see prices in EUR.

Hi, looks like with the Multi-Currency option...and adding USD back in...our US clients will see the US Dollar option, and not just EUR 100% of the time.

Yes, if you enable multi-currency you can also enable Geolocation which will automatically switch the website’s currency based on the customer’s location. Depending on the theme you are using, it might also be possible to add a currency switch to the site so the customer can choose.

To enable the multi-currency feature, if it’s not already:

1. Go to Payments > Settings in your WordPress dashboard.
2. Scroll down to the bottom and click on Advanced settings.
3. Check the Enable Multi-Currency box.
4. Click Save changes at the bottom.
