Stripe Webhooks – Order Confirmation Emails?

    We don’t get any email from Stripe when a buyer places an order; the way that we always do with a PayPal payment.

    We asked Stripe about it and they sent us to a really confusing page on their site about Webhooks.

    We can’t find anything in the plugin to set web hooks up so that we get order notification emails though…? And can’t find anything in the documentation either…

    By default, the payment details are included in the WooCommerce email sent to buyer upon placing an order. As per our communication with Stripe support, the feature you requested is not supported by Stripe.

    We aren’t looking for an email to be sent to the buyer. We are looking for an email to be sent to us, from Stripe, showing the payment.

    We contacted with Stripe support regarding this case. They have responded that the feature is not supported by Stripe. You may refer the screenshot.

    With the addition of webhooks in their plugin, you can receive payment notifications for a number of things. This link will give you a chance to see how you can set up webhooks to help you manage your account:

    You can have webhooks set to notify you of more than just payments as well! They can be set up for failed payments, subscription updates, invoices and much more.

    Hi @joyryde,

    We too got the same reply from them, but the documentation is referring to email notifications for buyers/customers. Not shop owners. The part regarding Webhooks is to enable failed payment notification for customers and that too is not for shop owners.

    Let us know if anything else.
