    Hi Rob,

There are plans to implement support for Alipay in the next major update of this plugin. Stay tuned!

    Hi Yuvraj,

Thank you for working on this. Would you be able to share roughly when this major update that supports alipay may become available please?

    Thanks!

    Daniel

Would you also be adding Stripe WeChat in that major update? And as wpfreshman asked above, when would this update come?
    Thanks

    Hey y’all!

I don’t have an ETA, but the developers are a present about 85% done with a major update to our Stripe plugin that will include AliPay support.

There are no plans at present to add WeChat support, but I would urge you to suggest that at https://ideas.woocommerce.com/ — that’s where our developers go to gauge what improvements and additional features our users are looking for.

    Hey DSmith,

Has the ETA developed any? I’m working with a team in China. Stripe doesn’t have Chinese documentation so I’d love to give this a try.

Keep up the good work, thanks!

Any updates on the Ali Pay? Eta? Any development plugins we can use for testing purpooses for beta? Thanks

Alipay has already been implemented in this branch here https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/tree/4.0.0

Will be in internal beta testing by next week. But you folks can always give the branch a try and report any issues on the repo if needed.

Thanks, royho. I tried the plugin and it works nicely for stripe alipay. The only question I have is that it does not support the store currency to be in Chinese Yuan. It would be much better if the customers can view prices in their local currency, which is Chinese Yuan in this case.

@wpfreshman, sorry I am not following? Do you mean the currency showing in WooCommerce products?

Yes, royho. In my wordpress plugin setting panel, it says the store currency has to be in USD for Stripe alipay to work. When I set the store currency to USD, the woocommerce products are shown in USD, as expected. I thought it would be better if the customers can view the products in Chinese Yuan, instead of USD… Thanks!

Here is the actual error message:

Alipay is enabled – it requires store currency to be set to EUR, AUD, CAD, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD, SGD, USD

@wpfreshman – right so Alipay supports any of these currencies EUR, AUD, CAD, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD, SGD, USD. You can see the technical specifications here https://stripe.com/payments/payment-methods-guide#alipay

Not something our plugin can control.

@royho I see. Thank you the response and getting this feature implemented. Really appreciate that!

@wpfreshman – yeah so once they have update it to support more currency, we will do the same.

I have been using the “official” woocommerce alipay plugin for the last few years and it works just fine except for one thing: Because you set your currency with Alipay as USD or EUR but your woocommerce website pretty much always has CNY as currency. Somehow the payment does not go from “payment pending” to “processing”. It only goes to “processing” automatically when your Alipay currency is USD and shop currency is set to USD.

If you can overcome that issue with Stripe, you’re officially a legend!
