Stripping It Down

Hi I really like the look of this theme, however, there is too much stuff on it for me.

All I require is simply:

Static Homepage w/right sidebar and top nav menu
Categories w/posts

Is there an easy way to remove every slider from this theme? I tried to hide everything in theme options but its still showing blank grey boxes for sliders.

Also for some reason pages dont appear on a static homepage.
