• I found this in the help section of the WYSIWHG editor:

“WordPress will strip all empty tags and
tags in favor of simple newline characters.”

Is there any way of preventing WordPress from doing this? as it is preventing me from editing my page correctly.

    Thanks

Maybe i can explain better…. If i have an image and then I want to leave a gap of 4-5 lines, when i publish the post/page the lines disappear. Why is this and how can i fix it?

I’m guessing you’re using the rich editor and that will always tend to strip tags. You can adjust spaces and such around the image with CSS, or you can not use the rich editor and then the HTML you enter should be kept.

i tried disabling the Rich editor and I added the HTML, but still it didnt work ??

What tags should i use in HTML to add linebreaks?

Currently i use <“br”> <“p”> (but without the quotes)

Just use <br /> on it’s own, it’s a self-closing line break. Disabling the rick editor and using the default should let you use that code, give the tag I suggested a try, it’s always worked for me.

    Cheers,
    Michael.

That worked. Many thanks Niziol. I am looking for someone to do some customization of my theme. If you are interested then please contact me.

I would be interested – I’ve noticed that you have received several offers from others in this thread, I’m sure they are all pro’s, but if you’d you don’t find one to your liking or for whatever other reason, feel free to e-mail me: michaelniziol (a) gmail.com and I’d be happy to help ??

    Cheers,
    Michael.

P.S. My seemingly never-ready-yet WordPress powered site can be seen here.
