  • Had the same problem.
I’ve installed the newest version (3.3), and exported the file just fine. But I encountered a problem while restoring database during import, got stuck at 41% and nothing happened. Contacted support and got an older version of the plugin (3.2.2-48-gc3416e1). Installed it on both versions of the site, and both export and import worked perfectly.

Interesting thing that I noticed was that while importing, the newer version of the plugin export file had around 6000 files in a database for import, while the older one had just 3000 and something. Maybe it has something to do with the server upload limitations, not sure.

Anyway, I’ve uploaded the older version of the plugin at the following link.
    https://www.sendspace.com/file/7bnxlc
If for some reason the link doesn’t work, contact the support and ask them to send you an older version.
Worked fine for me, maybe it will help someone.

    Cheers

    Hello All,

    I think I found a workaround:

Go to the database and find the wp_blogs table.
You will see under “domain” that the plugin didn’t change the domain to the new one.

Try to change it manually and then login to your dashboard with the login and password from the site that you’re migrating/cloning

    I’m using All-in-One WP Migration v. 4.3.

    Hope this helps.

I also had this issue, as @sumadinac17 suggested I tried plugin version 3.2.2 and the process was issue free.

I strongly suspect this was due to an out of date version of phpmyadmin. I am running version 4.2.10, the latest build at the time of writing is version 4.4.14.

I had a similar problem, but this works for me:

upload your .wpress file via FTP to wp-content/ai1wm-backups and then restore by using the Backups section instead?

    Thank you, idavila!

I have tried all of this, more than once, on completely different servers. One on liquidweb VPS and one on godaddy VPS. Not really sure what the issue is other than it hangs on “restoring database” for hours and hours.

Not a problem at all, kyledoesit.

    Hi!

I used the All-in-one-wpmigration to move my from local host to live. I got the “restoring database” message for a long time so I tried to stop the migration by aborting. Now I can’t access my dashboard on my localhost! All I get is the below with no media, content, theme or any kind or formatting:

    ********************
    Search for:
    Close
    clydes bonnie

the kind of buzz you just can’t kill

    about

    …etc.
    **************

When I woke up this morning, the media was there but when I attempted to access the dashboard, everything reverted back so that I could access ANYTHING. Any way or restoring back??

I still have the .wpress file that was exported via All-in-one-wp migration. Can I somehow restore using the .wpress file?

    I’m using MAMP…fyi.

    Please help!!

…also, let me know if you think I should just trash everything and start over. I’m beginning to realize it would take less time to start over but really want to understand what is going on so I don’t make the same mistake.

Moving local host to live is by far the most complicating and frustrating step in using wordpress for someone who’s using wordpress for the first time.

    Hi hdemoz,

I am sorry for the inconvenience the plugin has given to you.
    You can give the following steps a try;
    1. While on restoring database, leave it running for 15 minutes.
    2. After 15 minutes, open another tab and try to login to wp-admin with WP Admin username/password of the exported site
    3. Go to settings -> permalinks and save the permalink structure
    4. Go to All in one WP Migration – Export page and click on Turn Off Maintenance
At this point the website should be successfully migrated.

If these are not working for you, you can roll back to our old version (https://www.dropbox.com/s/6r8n8b4wvfte32r/all-in-one-wp-migration.2.0.5.zip?dl=0) and make sure to both export/import again.

You can also reach us at support at servmask.com for further assistance.

    Best,

    Hi Pim,

Thank you for your quick response!

I don’t have access to the dashboard so I can’t even get to step 1 of the above mentioned steps; that’s why I want to restore the local host site to what it was before ever using the all-in-one-wp-migration.

Can you please help me do that so I can have access again (dashboard and local host site before the all in one plug-in)? I know the data is there but don’t know what to do or how to do it when it comes to that kind of thing. At this point, I just want access again.

Do I need to do something in MAMP, pHp etc?

    Hi hdemoz,

I have replied to your support ticket via email – thanks again for reaching out to me.

From what I understand, you exported on your localhost and imported on a live site.
The error occurred on a live site but you cannot access your localhost dashboard which is an exported site.
When any error occurs on the imported site, the exported site will never be affected since the only thing we use from the exported site is the backup (.wpress).
However, the exported site can be affected somehow (wiping) when both exported site and imported site are sharing the same database – your case is different since one is local, another one is live).

Please get back to me and we will see what possible issues may cause this.

Hi, I have problems when I try to export to a file. The process get stuck in “Done exporting database” and in error.log I have
