    No problem, spolio.
Do you have backups from other plugins that you can delete besides some large pictures?

Hi. Stuck on ‘restoring data base’. Everything worked fine. I’m using instant wordpress local host.

    Thanks Chris

    Hi Chris,

I have replied to your support ticket.
Were you able to login while opening another tab?

I’m having the same problem with the import. Basically it is getting stuck on “Restoring Database”. I have tried the trick mentioned above – wait 15 mins and open another tab and try to login to wp-admin with WP Admin username/password of the exported site without success. The log file contained the following:

    [Feb 14 2016 01:39:50] ERROR_HANDLER
    Number: 8
Message: unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 42 bytes
    File: /home3/sandcastle/public_html/sa/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/lib/vendor/mysqldump-factory/mysqldump-factory/lib/MysqlDumpUtility.php

And goes on for some 90,000 entries with similar errors.

My host server is HostGator.com. I’m trying to create a WP working (sandbox) folder so I can try and test changes to my ‘live’ site. The active site is operating out of the ‘root’ folder a working folder was created under ‘root’. A new WP install was created in this working folder. The ‘all-in-one WP migration’ was the only plugin installed in the new working project.

From the ‘live’ website I exported using default settings and imported into the ‘working’ subfolder and this is where it get stuck restoring the database. The created .wpress file is 206MB.

One other thing – the admin name and password are different between the two WP installations. Should they be the same?

I appreciate any ideas and or comments on how to move forward with this migration issue.

    Hi Pim

I was able to resolve the hanging database on that other site by excluding the media files and uploading by FTP.
However, I’m now having the same problem moving a site within my own server (195MB).
I’ve tried affecting the php.ini file to see if this helps but it’s still hanging on the Database restore. Again, I tried leaving the media and also the theme out of the file but I get the same problem.
This is the site I’m trying to move:
    https://www.o8c.co.uk/nakedtranslations/home-2/

And these are the settings allocated to the new site:
    mysql.connect_timeout: 50
    max_input_time: 3000
    max_execution_time: 300
    max_input_vars: 3000

    Thanks

    Hello Pim,

Does any one here also stuck at restoring database?
I wait overnight to import the file but still the restoring database still looping.
    I only import 52mb file.

I hope someone will help me to configure it out.

    Thanks

    Hi Paul and kimshie0710,

Thank you for the information provided.
Could you let me know what your mysql.connect_timeout and max_execution_time are set to?

    (@pimjitsawang)

    Hi andydog66,

You may want to increase mysql.connect_timeout.

    Best,
    Pim

    Hi Pim,

max_execution_time is set to 30 and cannot be changed.
    mysql.connect_timeout = 60 and cannot be changed.

    Hi Paul,

I am afraid the settings are too low (most especially max_execution_time) for the plugin to restore your database.

I resolved my “Restoring database…” not completing issue. My original (exported) site was on SQL 5.0. After upgrading to 5.6 to match the new site, the process works great!

I upgraded the SQL database in the Database Manager tool at my web host.

    Hi Pim

The increase in mysql.connect_timeout worked for me.
I created a new test environment, increased this setting to 300 (without any other change) and the database restore part of the process was instantaneous.

This is fine when I’m moving sites on my own server but sometimes I’m not able to change this setting on my client’s servers.

    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

I am glad you were able to resolve the issue.
For your clients’ sites, you may try opening a new tab to see if you can login to the dashboard. We will also see if there is anything we can do to improve the plugin.

    Pim,

So my time outs are too low. What value do they need to be set to for this plugin to work?

    max_execution_time = ???
    mysql.connect_timeout = ???

    Thanks,
    Paul
