Stuck in Image Optimisation

    About a month ago I clicked the button under “Image Optimisation” to optimise images. Every single time I have checked back to see if it is done, I still get the spinning circle saying we are optimising images.

    I did think at first that it could just be from a large number of images uploaded to the media library, but taking weeks to optimise images, which had been partly resized and optimised before upload, does seem to indicate a problem.

    I have tried pausing the optimisation and then resuming, but to no avail.

    Is there any way to just cancel optimisation, so I might be able to start it again? Is there anything that could cause this to never complete?

    Everything has been optimized normally on your site. However, you have the ” Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall” plugin that breaks the WP Rest API and our plugin’s interface does not work properly and can’t update you that the optimizations are completed.

    I have used that plugin in the past, but is not currently activated or installed on my site. Would the issues that plugin creates persist after deactivation/deletion?

    It is enabled for the network. You can’t see it for the single site but it works on network level…

    I have just checked again and it is not listed in plugins under /wp-admin/network/plugins.php, and I have checked via FTP to see no plugin folder for the Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall plugin.

    I want all images of my blog to be optimized as my loading time of the blog is around 8 seconds. Can anyone suggest a Plugin that I can use for my blog?
