Hello. I recently migrated my site over to a new host. Before I copied the files I put the site into Maintenance Mode. Then I copied over the site and installed it on the new server. When I went to log into the back end things were fine. I deactivated MM, but the front end still showed the maintenance page, as though I was not logged in as admin. I deactivated then deleted the plugin, but the MM curtain remains.

I even re-installed the plugin, changed the text, but text changes are not showing. It still shows the old text and I can’t update it at all.

Is there a place in the database I can look to to delete the WPMM data? Thanks.

  • Hello @gregreimer,

Do you have a caching plugin installed? If yes, try to delete the cache because if the plugin is deleted… the problem is definitely caused by another plugin (most often it happens because of caching plugins).

    Thanks.

I’m having the exact same issue. No cache plugin. I even reinstalling the plugin, changing the text, but text changes are not showing. It still shows the old text and I can’t get rid of it.

    Hello,
    same thing for me !!

I’ve deleted the plugin 5 months ago and I still get my website down like once or twice a week with the message coming from this plugin..

It’s a big issue, I don’t know how to get rid of it… Ive empty W3 total caches so many times and checked if there was a maintenance.php file in my server but no..

Please help it’s really a big issue..

    Thanks

@terre-terre: if you use W3 Total Cache with disk cache, please delete the entire content of the cache folder (from wp-content) via FTP. On some hosts… W3T empty cache feature is not working well.

@visualnoise: if you don’t have a cache plugin, have you checked if your hosting has a cache layer?
