stuck in maintenance mode

    Help! I updated to 3.3 a few days ago and today i saw that there were some plugin updates (google events, shadowbox) so i hit update automatically, now all of my sites (I’m running MU) show
    Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.

    and it’s been several minutes now and i’m starting to panic. I can’t even log on to the dashboard(s)

    Took a while but eventually i was able to login to the dashboard and see this message: An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.

    I’ll wait till after hours to try again.
