• Hello,

I used WP migration to move some sub-domains from a .co.uk site to a .com as my brand is moving over. I went into each of the subdomains and did an export. I did a file export and downloaded it (as all other export methods are ‘paid’. When I came to the import, it stuck at 0% and 0.5% – I have adjusted the settings in the php file to a very high setting and it didn’t go. Not the only one to have had this.

The advice from a team member was to install version 6.77, then upload the back-up file and do a restore from the back-up folder. That now fails saying the restore is for a paid version only.

There should be a huge warning on your plug in that states, the back-up is free and ALL restore options are for a paid version; and just be up-front about it.

Disgruntled. Going back to traditional back-up restore measures.

  • Well, you can still download backup with the filename ends with “.wpress” extension off your hosting and import from your computing rather than going through traditional back-up.

What is the problem about up-front when you are using WordPress which is a traditional CMS, unless you prefer to try other CMS, it’s your choice that you choose WordPress. Disgruntled.

That makes no sense. I know I can download it, you just cannot import it.

It make no sense to you, but make sense to developers and others. You are using “freemium” plugins or software. That’s the way business works for a long-time with traditional CMS like WordPress ecosystem.

Thank you for teaching me to suck eggs.

    My point was not addressed.

However I hope making your point public made you feel better.
