I exported a WP site and tried to import it in both ways, as upload and as backup. One stays at “blog preparation completed”, the other at “activating mu-plugins… ”
Trying to see the site results in an 500 error.
I changed the wp-content rights from 557 to 577, no effect.
Any suggestions? I’ll go sleep now…
How long should importing 73 MB take, can you tell from experience how long I should wait before interrupting? THX

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi goetzilla,

It should take 5 minutes at most for a 73MB file.
    What is your PHP version?

Could you set WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file to true, refresh the frontend and send us an error to support at servmask.com?

    Thank you!

Thanks for getting in touch that quick! I really appreciate your help.
With activated WP_DEBUG i get the following error message

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /mnt/web222/e0/55/5224055/htdocs/WordPress_02/wp-content/mu-plugins/wp-nc-easywp/vendor/wpbones/wpbones/src/helpers.php on line 87

It could be a PHP version incompatibility.
    What is your PHP version?

I am currently using PHP 5.3

Just found out that one is an old version… :-/
Which one do you suggest? I can choose from different versions…

Use the same one as the site you were exporting from.
If you do not know, then try with PHP 7.2 and if it does not work go for 5.6

PHP 7.2 does the job, it seems. Damn, that is actually something I could have thought about earlier… was a bit tricky to get to the settings, though.
Now the navigation menu does’nt link to the propoer pages anymore. Any suggestions on that

Anyway, thanks a lot so far, great tool!

Try with default permalinks structure, if the menu works with the default, you are missing mod_rewrite on your apache server.

The plugin should have warned you that you are importing on PHP 5 while your site was PHP 7 – you might have missed it.

You’re the best that’s it ?? Thanks. Hope your day will be as great as mine will be now ??

    ?? ?? ??

I was facing this issue because of different versions of PHP. I am sure that can be easily added to plugin, recognize and warn before starting the import?

    @webcolor

The plugin displays a bold message in import when the archive is made on PHP5 and the site is using PHP7 – that’s where we saw the most of the issues.
Migrating between non-major versions like PHP 5.3 5.4 5.5 and 5.6 is usually not a problem. Unfortunately, a large number of plugins do not support PHP7 still.
