I have just moved a client site from the test location to the live site (through still have Maintenance Mode on). the plugin displayed the play/pause button on the test site, on the live site is is black.

I can actually click there since I know that there is a play button and it plays. What has happened to make this button go black?

This is the test site, where it looks fine

On the live site, since it wasn’t viewing properly, I placed a downloadable link for the time being.
Here is the code on a separate page to show you:

Hi Liz, the problem is the theme. Can you report this issue to your theme developers, see if they can come up with a solution. If you use the same theme from the working test site I am sure it will work.

That would be an explanation if the theme was different but this is simple a matter of creating the new site on a test space and then transferring the content and installing the exact same theme and copying WP files pertaining to the design. I’m just going to use another player, this one is taking more time than its worth. Thanks for your help.

Sorry to hear I was not able to help you further. I am glad you will try a different plugin that will help you with your project.

Since you are no longer going to use this plugin could you mark this support thread as resolved.

    Thank you

I’ve installed Compact WP Audio Player and all seems well except for one nagging detail: the Play button does not show! It’s functional, but does not appear.

The test page I’m working on is: https://jamesjmyers.com/recordings-draft/

I’ve tried adding these two lines to the .htaccess file, to no avail:

    AddType image/svg+xml svg svgz
    AddEncoding gzip svgz

Also spoke with the site host [GoDaddy] and they didn’t think it was anything to do with them.

    … Any guidance would be much appreciated! . . . .

@e k i M ~, I checked in one of my browsers and the play button shows. Which browser are you using?
