style images differently on posts

  • Here’s what I have.

    I want to style my posts, making only the first one to look different.

    I managed to differentiate the first post with another div, so now I already can stylize my first post in a different way. But I have a problem. My normal posts have a introdutory image, a small square one with only 140px onthe sides. But I want my first post to have a image, a little bigger and retanular image. This image must be different than the image used on the otber posts.

    Can I call a imagem from the wordpress database, associated with that post, and replace the original Squared image?

    I have to do that in some way that when the first post became outdated, it will be turned in the second post, and the square image will appear.

    It’s possible to make it with css?! Thanks.

  • That wouldn’t be possible with CSS. You’d need to start editing your theme’s index.php template file.

    Thanks. Any lead I should take?

    I Know only a little of php, that I learned just recently by creating my wordpress theme.

    And, in that case, I’m using the category.php template, so I should edit it right?
