Style of Comments on Blogs

Hi, I’d like to change the way comments are displayed on the different blog posts. At this time in my opinion the comments (and their authors) take up incredibly too much space. Comments are important, but no one wants to scroll as much as is currently necessary (I can only get 2 comments on my screen at a time given the size of the Author, Date, Permalink and so forth…

Please help!
