I am writing a custom theme and have changed posts_loop_template.php to my custom template and post-page_styles.css to my custom CSS. Just to be sure I copied it both into my custom theme directory and replaced the files in the plugin directory. I am calling the shortcode via a single page.

However, even though no original CSS code is left, there are stylistic overrides happening and I have no idea why. A pre-tag is being added around my content loop which changes my CSS, aswell as a “post-meta-key” <span> class which I don’t need, right into my custom layout.

How is this happening? How can I delete/override it?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

OK, I got it. This was a really stupid mistake. I had copied the shortcode from the website and when inserting it inside the single page, the pre-tag formatting was included without me noticing.

So if anybody encounters the same problem: go into page editing mode, switch from “Visual” to “Text” and make sure there are no tags around the shortcode.
