Styling based on category

  • This is a brilliant plugin.

    As my PHP knowledge is a little limited I was wondering if anyone had done something like this before:

    I’d like to apply background shading to the boxes on the full size calendar, dependent on the category the event is listed in

    Realise it is based on conditions but the tutorial went a little over my head. Does anyone have any advice?

  • I didn’t change anything, I only updated the plugin. Looking at the categories within Events Manager, there is no longer a category ID to use (that I can see) so i assumed they got changed with the upgrade to v5.

    What I’m saying is the IDs of the category’s have changed, so chances are you need to update your CSS to reflect those new IDs

    Hi Mark, Yes, this is the issue, I can not see what the new category ID’s are. Before they were obvious. I have searched all over. Do you know where can I now find them?

    Hi – just had a quick look at your page and your category IDs are:

    • CI Class: eventcat-29
    • CI Jam: eventcat-31
    • CI Festival: eventcat-35
    • Other Class: eventcat-37
    • Other Workshop: eventcat-38
    • UK CI Jam: eventcat-39

    The newest version of the plugin uses the standard categories system which is built into WordPress You will find them listed in the standard categories admin menu, so under posts > categories

    Many thanks for that. Did you get the ID’s from the page source code?
    I had looked under posts>categories, but my Events Manager categories aren’t listed there….. Also, the category ID’s aren’t listed under there for my standard post categories either, so I must be missing something.
    Anyway, thanks for the tip re the source code, I will make the necessary changes now ??
