Styling comments

Hi all,
From time to time my visitors will post a comment/questions in the comments section below my pages. I usually try to answer them extensively, and I add blank lines etc. for readability, but when it’s posted, it’s all stitched together into one long line of text.
How can I style my comments and if I can use HTML, which tags can I use?
