Styling Nav links for current page only works on one page
-
Hi,
I am swapping out and older / different developer theme for a client who doesn’t have a lot of changes made regularly. Thought this would be an easy way to force myself to get acquainted with FSE and WordPress TTF.
So far I’ve been able to replicate just about everything but — styling the links in the navigation bar doesn’t work to show current page only. Well it works only for one page. But not the others.
The old theme, like what everyone complains about with their migrations to TTF I imagine, displayed current page styling for everything in the nav bar without trouble. So I read your comments to another person having the same question (almost) as me here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/customize-current-menu-item/ – and made the styling a little different than what was suggested – has a grey background.
I have looked closely at any additional custom classes for each navigation item, and it looks to me that each link has all the same everything as the others. Why one page (Five-Behaviors) takes the styling? I checked to see that each page was using the custom header, yes. And I deleted the navigation block in my custom header, and installed a new one (with the same pages). That workaround doesn’t work for me.
Do you have any ideas about how I can find the cause of the missing styles? Or anything else I can try?
Thanks much,
Beatty
