Styling issue of letters with v3.7.0

Are you using the new BuddyPress HTML emails functionality available in BP 2.5+? Or a custom HTML template with a different email plugin?

If you’re using a different email plugin, can you try this fix and report back?

Hi,

I’m using

1) WP Better Emails v 0.3 (HTML generated with sendgrid, use %content% command)
2) SAR Friendly SMTP (sending Emails through sendgrid)

Changed the bp-activity-subscription-digest.php file and it works now. Thank you.

If this is what I think it means, this isn’t related to GES.

Try doing your post without GES and see if the same problem occurs. If the problem doesn’t occur when GES is deactivated, list some clear and precise steps so we are able to duplicate the problem.

It might be a WordPress problem with wptexturize().

Ok deactivated your plugin and do not get any message anymore when I upload anything to my Buddypress group.

If I use your plugin version 3.7.1 get the following message via email with UTF-8 styling issue, see https://www.screencast.com/t/jCH4hTQWS

Interestingly if I use version 3.7.1 and write something to the newsfeed or activity part of a group do not get any styling issue of UTF-8, but had this with version 3.7.0 before

But, in v3.7.1, you’re saying that it doesn’t work? We didn’t change anything here.

If you are still experiencing issues, can you please write a list of detailed steps to replicate the problem, including the content you used to post.

For example:
1. Go to the following URL: example.com/groups/my-group
2. Navigate to the “Home” tab.
3. Add the following content into the “What’s new” box: XXXX
4. I receive an email from GES with the wrong-encoded content.

I’ve found a solution, but it requires a code snippet since you’re using a 3rd-party WordPress email plugin:
