You should have only one or two photos in the parent album to provide a cover image. Set the Photocount treshold value to 3 or so in Table I-A4. This prevents the 1 or 2 images to show up as content of the album. Then, you have only sub-albums as visual content, each with a cover image.

Set the link from the parent album cover as the sub-albums and thumbnails, the links from the sub-album covers to the albumphotos as slideshow and everything works how you want it to be.

You can display the parent album content with either:

%%wppa%% %%album=[parentalbumid]%%

or:

[wppa type=”album” album=”[parentalbumid]” ][/wppa]

where [parentalbumid] is the id of the parent.

Thank you for your help ?? It resolved the issue and did exactly what was required.

I’m stuck on two small issues:
1.): In slideshows the thumbnail shows duplicate images
i.e. https://www.bpcdev.co.uk/gallery/ (Events > Exhibition ICE – It has only two photos but it displays duplicate images across).

2.): When I click ‘back’ button in the browser while in gallery or use Photo Album’s mini breadcrumbs to navigate back to album categories then the url shows random address in the address bar.

I have Ajax enabled in Table IV-A (1) and the rest are disabled in Table IV-A (2-5).

1. You can uncheck slideshow wrap-around ( filmstrip shows the other end ) on Table IV-B8

2. https://www.bpcdev.co.uk/gallery/?wppa-album=2&wppa-cover=0&wppa-slide&wppa-occur=1 is not random, but is a querystring that tells wppa+ what to display. This way you not need to have a page for every album, but you can display any album, thumbs or slideshow, on any page that has at least %%wppa%% or [wppa] in ts content.

To make it look more pretty, check Table IV-A3

1.) #1 was spot on.
2.) Makes a lot of things clear and see why it shows the url.

1 last question.. is it possible to disable the Photo names in the mini breadcrumbs when in slideshow mode (shows current slide image name in breadcrumbs)?

Checked in settings to disable this option and the only option I could find was in Table II-B5 but that represents Photo names in the description box and not in breadcrumbs.

There are ‘only’ 12 breadcrumb related settings, in Table II-A, not including this one, sorry.

That’s fine… what I will do is either tweak in the php raw file or hide the Photo Name in breadcrumbs with css by making them same as the background colour.

I have experienced two small issues in with this plugin:

1.) Slideshow – Cannot seem to scroll pages using tablets when in slideshow view. Within the ‘slide_frame-1’ container. I tried several methods but no joy yet.

2.) Slideshow – Thumbnails in slideshow are aligned to right; is it possible to have the thumbnails left? I checked in settings and also tried to tweak css but it stays on the right hand side.

1.) You should be able to swipe left-right for next-previous slide.

2.) The thumbnail image of the ‘current’ slide is always at the centre of the filmstrip. That is the way it is designed.

1.) Yes I can do that but the issue is; when on the slideshow page it won’t let me scroll up or down the page using tablets. Just within the ‘slide_frame-1’ container area.

2.) Ahh I c why i wasn’t able to do it.. I will make the thumbnails bigger so they can slide towards left.

It is either i install a swipe handler ( touch events ) and you can left-right scroll through the slideshow, OR i do not install a swipe handler and the original touch events will work. I can not process left-right events and pass on up-down events.

If you want to switch off the wppa+ swipe handler, do the following:

Use ftp and delete …/wp-content/plugins/wp-photo-album-plus/wppa.min.js

Edit wppa.js, look for line #211:
