• The problemis that I can create sub categories but when I view them on the page itself they look like categories in their own right. On https://www.oldmapsandprints.com.au, for example, Botanical is the parent and Australia and US are the sub-categories. However they all appear to be on the same level.

I am using the ninja plugin to get categories on pages as well on as posts. I thought the plugin may have been causing the problem, so deactivated it and the problem remained on a post. So that doesn’t appear to be the cause of the problem.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

A few days ago there is a nick name Jess has giving me an idea how to create menus. I gave credit to Jess.

I am currently using WordPress version 3.5.1. As much as I can, in your case you don’t need plugin for creating category and/or subcategory. I think you have not select a check box or the category name to make it appears as parent category. You need to look again in the category menu.

    Thanks for responding surfingonline.

Because I am wanting categories and sub-categories on pages as well as posts I understand I do need a plugin. When I deactivate that plugin there is no provision on the pages for categories.

When I create the categories and view them on the side of the edit page the subcategories appear correctly so I believe I am setting them up in the right way. However when I view the page categories and sub categories are on the same level.
