On the left side, when we have more that one categorie with sub-categories they are listed in this manner:

    Category 1
    Caterogy 2

    Sub-categorie 1 (related to category 1?)
    Sub-category 2 (related to category 1?)
    Sub-category 1 (related to caterogy 2?)
    Sub-category 2 (related to category 2?)

If we have two sub-categories with the same name then there is no obvious way of knowing what category they belong to and since they probably point out to different products, then they are worthless…

A better layout, in my opinion and for the example above would be:

    Category 1
    Sub-category 1
    Sub-category 2

    Category 2
    Sub-category 1
    Sub-category 2

    Could this be easily implemented?

Thank you for the great product, it has saved me many hours of work and it looks great!

Pertaining to the layout suggestion to display Category and sub-category…

The indentation got lost in the previous message (I’ll use hyphens for spaces):

    Category 1
    –Sub-category 1
    –Sub-category 2

    Category 2
    –Sub-category 1
    –Sub-category 2

    Thank you

Aha! I have just bought and configured this plugin and I note the same thing. As you say, sub-categories are useless unless they sit under their respective categories.

I hope there’s an easy fix for this!

    Hi all,

Useless might be going a little far haha, but I think it’s a good suggestion. We’ll look in to adding an option to switch to the layout you suggested. In the meantime, you could put the category name in brackets inside the sub-category name to differentiate.

Thanks Rustaurius, no offense intended! I think it would be a very useful feature, especially for catalogues like my client’s which will have dozens of categories and hundreds of products.

This would be great if it could be done. I am making a new website and have about 5000 items, with categories and lots of sub categories. Thank you.

Yes Chris_john, it would be great. My client is loading products and categories and it’s getting rather unwieldy – take a look here https://website-designer.co.nz/cj/product-catalogue/

In an ideal world it would have an “accordian” menu like the competitor plugin here https://demo.enigmaweb.com.au/wp-catalogue/ I tried the Enigma plugin but it’s nowhere near as good as this one – apart from the category menu …. ??

I am going live with my new website this weekend. But would love to have the ‘accordion’ style plugin for the ultimate product catalogue ASAP. Any chance this can be done soon?

Me too! It would be so good.

Hows it going with the accordion style plugin for the Ultimate Product Catalogue? Any chance we can have this soon? If not, how about the categories and sub categories being put in alphabetical order. This would be great also.

Sorry, heres a link to my website so you can see the problem https://www.cjpromotions.co.nz

I’ll try to get this prioritized, sorry about the delay.

Thank you for making the categories and sub categories alphabetical. This helps. But I really need the sub categories under the categories accordion style. See my wed for the problem, https://www.cjpromotions.co.nz

Good afternoon, If you could please tell me when the plugin for the sub categories being under the categories accordion style is going to be available. If it is going to be a while, I will change my website to having categories only until the plugin is available. Thank you.

It should be available by October 10th.

Sorry, we ran into an error in testing, so this will only be released tomorrow (October 11th).
