Sub-menu population?
-
Apologies if this is covered in the docs/elsewhere but I haven’t found the answer…
I am using Yada Wiki which has a custom post type “yada_wiki” and its own hierarchical taxonomy.
I have a lot of articles and so under the top level yada-wiki category “Wiki” I have created alphabetical groups A-E, F-J, etc., each of which contains several articles.
I thought that setting up a menu based on taxonomy would allow me to list all articles in groups (one group at a time, other headings unexpanded until mouse over or click or…) in a menu but I can’t see how to achieve this.
I have
1/ “Wiki” as a (Wiki) Category Menu
2/ Groups A-E, F-J, etc. added as sub-items of “Wiki”
3/ Wiki itself is not set to auto-populate
4/ Each of A-E etc. is set to populate from the taxonomy “wiki_cats” with the appropriate (e.g. “A-E”) category for each item selected under terms; hide empty items unchecked, depth = 2 (changed from 0 which also did not seem to further the objective)[Also: On the letter subgroup items, “replace current item…” is unchecked, but if I check it, the group item disappears, but is not replaced by the title of the (published) article in that category.]
What should I be doing to achieve the required result based on a hierarchical taxonomy?
Otherwise JC Submenu does everything I expected of it, there have been no apparent conflicts with other plugins or the Theme (Divi) – nice work; thank you.
Best regards
Julian
