Sub pages drafts still showing up on parent page

This is probably very simple, but I cannot seem to fix this. I have made 3 subpages into drafts but they still show up on the parent page. You can see them when you hover over the title of the parent page in the drop down menu and on the parent page once you click on it. It should be showing only about 5 pictures/links to the live subpages but its still showing the other 3 that are supposed to be drafts. I do not understand what I am doing wrong.do you call these subpages child pages?
