Hi, Bit of a strange one here guys. I am running 4.4.1 with a Kallyas theme and Woocommerce 2.5.1. When creating subcategories, for some unknown reason, it wont work if certain words are used. For example i currently have

    home>shop>hanhemuhle>

Hahnemuhle being the brand category which will hold subcategories.

Glossy Canvas Matt Textured Matt Smooth.

So the bread crumbs show fine on 2 categories but not on others unless i use different words
    eg:
    home>shop>hahnemuhle>matt textured>product

as soon as product is clicked on, the breadcrumbs become

    home>shop>hahnemuhle>product

Its like the matt textured category is ignored until i change it to something like biscuit or something else random. I have deleted the category, chose one that works and changed the name but immediately changes and drops the sub category name i want to use. So

    home>shop>hahnemuhle>matt textured>product

this wont display until matt textured is changed to something else like

    home>shop>hahnemuhle>sheep>product

Is this a woocommerce, Kallyas theme or wordpress issue ? Need some insight please if anybody can help or point me in the right direction.

  • Hello, steveirons, & welcome to the WordPress support forum. Just a hunch here, but might something like matt-textured work, i.e. no spaces in the category?

Hi jackie, thanks for replying. I found out what the problem was. I had Hahnemuhle as a main category and was a parent to Matt textured. In the product section, I linked the product to Matt textured and Hahnemuhle instead of just to matt textured, which kind of forced two parents and WordPress chose the main ‘hahnemuhle’ as the only choice. Simple solution once you know how but tear inducing trying to figure it out.

Great, stevehirons. Would you please be so kind as to mark the topic resolved so we can feel free to go help others w/their difficulties?

    Thanks.

Hi Jackie, it was already marked on my last reply. But thanks for the reminder anyway. ??
