    Hello

I Set “Show subcategories” to “Category display”
Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Catalog

I have added products to the categories. the categories are not empty.

when I click onto the main parent category it just displays all of the products.

    Subcategories not displaying in shop

    I did a conflict test.
I deactivated all plugins except WooCommerce. the conflict no longer exists.
It means that the plugins I deactivated were causing the conflict.

Then, I activated plugins one by one.
The problem occurred again when I active YITH WooCommerce AJAX Product Filter plugin.

    Hi @hopefulness

thanks for reporting about that. Unfortunately, I have tested it but works fine on my side.

Could you test it with Twenty Twenty-One theme or storefront theme? Let me know if works.

    Hi

I switched to a default WordPress theme, (storefront & Twenty Twenty-One) to see if the issue persists. The problem remained.

    Hi there,

I don’t understand if the problem persist ONLY with WooCommerce and YITH WooCommerce Ajax Product Filter or not. In this case you can enable it one by one to discover which plugin, in combination with the YITH one, cause the problem.

    Hi,
we’ve just made another test in our local installation with:

    • WordPress 5.8.1
    • WooCommerce 5.6.0
    • YITH WooCommerce Ajax Product Filter 4.1.1
    • Twenty Twenty-One 1.4

and everything works fine, as you can see here

    here our settings:

Maybe do you have any other active plugin that is causing this issue? Or maybe are you using some out-of-date plugins/theme?
In addition, have you tried in a clean installation?

    Hi @leanzafrancesco and @agengineering

I installed a new WordPress. Then, I installed WooCommerce and YITH WooCommerce Ajax Product Filter on it. Everything works fine.

I copied Plugin Folders from new site to old site. The problem occurred again.

I think the problem is with the database. What is YITH WooCommerce Ajax Product Filter’s tables name on database? I need to drop it.

    Hi @leanzafrancesco & @agengineering

I deleted all WooCommerce data (including products, order data, etc.)
I modify the site’s wp-config.php file and add define( 'WC_REMOVE_ALL_DATA', true ); to it. then deactivating and deleting WooCommerce plugin and installed it again.
    The problem still exists.

So, the problem is not with the database.
