subdirectory multi-networks?

  • We have a site that is setup as follows with multisite using subdirectories. We also use domain mapping.

    site.com/site1
    site.com/site2
    mapped.com
    mapped2.com

    Is it possible to have..

    site.com/newnetwork on the same host, such that we could do

    site.com/newnetwork/site3
    site.com/newnetwork/site4

    or is that pushing the limits a tad too far? ??

    Maybe I should ask this a different way..

    Can you do nested multi-site installs with WP Multi-Network?

    I just asked the same question only worded differently ??

    Any luck finding a solution for this anywhere else?

    Nah, nothing here. I was more interested if it was advised or not, before I even started down that path. I’m sure I could get the appropriate rewrites in place but not sure how far down the rabbit hole I would have to go to make code support it that possibly doesn’t.
