• Hi all,

    I’ve been running a wordpress multisite installation for about 2 years. The site uses subdirectories. Today I wanted to add a new subsite but the upon clicking “Add Site” I’m only able to enter a subdomain URL and not a sub directory. This has remained in my wp-config.php file for nearly 2 years to force subdirectories.

    define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', 'false');

    Does anyone know what could be the cause of this? Or how I can resolve it.

    On another note. The website is a subdirectory installation but wordpress is detecting it as a subdomain install.

    Okay, managed to resolve one thing but now I’m unable to view subdirectory dashboards. I get a “File Not Found” error. Strangely, I can log into other subsite dashboards but not any newly created ones.

    The home directory of a website can be accessed with a simple ‘/’ at the start of the link you want to add. From there you can enter subfolders by appending the folder name.

    Example: ‘example.com/subfolder/subsubfolder/page.html’
