subdomain

  • hi,
    i created a subdomain so i could translate my site to chinese.
    but, when i try to visit my subdomain, it doesnt exist!
    am i misunderstanding the concept of a subdomain? can somebody please explain to me what exactly it is, and how do i go about using it?

  • Might be problem with your permalinks. try to resolve it through permalinks. Even the scenario of your problem is still unclear. Share with us, probably I could help you out.:-)

    hi,
    my site domain is wahlinc.com but i want to have another subdomain (site) with my main domain’s content, but in chinese. so, i created the subdomain, chinese.wahlinc.com and the add-on domain of wahlinc.com.cn
    but now how do i create the same content, but in chinese, on this subdomain?
    or am i just simply misunderstanding the concept of a subdomain?

    hi

    essentially what you are creating is a completely new WordPress site with clean installation of WordPress.

    Create it in its own folder and then you should be good to go.

    thx. but please take me from step 1. how do i access my subdomain’s dashboard in order to customize it? please explain to me what it means to create it in its own folder?

    i finally figured it out! thx for helping.
    next question, now that im on the dashboard of my subdomain, how do i import my main domain’s theme, posts, pages, and the rest of the setup? is that possible?
