Subdomain Issue after upgrade to 3.0.4

  • Dear all…
    I was ok with subdomain on Bluehost before upgrade to 3.0.4.
    Now I have a problem all subdomain go to domain.com @@
    BUT direct url in subdomains are fine..

    like this
    “aaa.doamin.com” goes to “domain.com”
    “bbb.domain.com” goes to “domain.com”
    but
    “aaa.domain.com/pages” goes to “aaa.domain.com/pages” normally.

    any one know how to fix??

    I see… thanks. sorry, I try lots of debugging for hours@@ (it’s almost 5AM now), I edit the post instead of new one next time, hope there’s no next time.

    You mean you have another domain name that works just fine with multisite and subdomains?

    YES. same setup at same account, same host. the other domain works fine…

    hope is server’s cache failure.

    Give the box an apache restart, definitely.

    And make sure the domain setups are identical (save for the domain name itself). Sometimes minor differences cause the wildest problems.

    Bluehost said that they don’t support wildcard, so not guarantee it works and can’t support it……

    So… I decide to reinstall WP…..

    Yeah, sadly that means they PROBABLY caught on to your trick and kiboshed whatever was letting it work ??

    WordPress can’t make the wildcard subdomains magically work.

    If they could, we’d have a whole pile of threads we didn’t need to answer. ??
