Changing the link font size (in ‘style’) cancels the ‘Smaller submenu items’ setting: if you enlarge the font size, then all items (parents and subitems) are changed to the new larger size. It would be nice instead to be able to enlarge all text proportionately, so submenu items are still smaller than parent items.

    Hi,

Thank you for raising this issue!

I’ve had a look and … I don’t think it’s doing what you describe on the front-end. The way that the Customizer works is that CSS changes that can be applied via JavaScript are applied immediately without refreshing the page. This can have odd, unexpected results to elements that would normally have their style dictated by parent elements (such as making child menu items smaller than their parent’s).

You’ll find that if you save the chosen settings and view the menu on the front end that the two options work well together.

The alternative fix (which we chose not to do) would be to make it so that the “SideMenu Text Font Size” option required the Customizer preview panel to be refreshed. We didn’t do this because when using a slider, doing so can be very difficult for the user to get the right setting as the preview keeps refreshing!

    Does that make sense?

    Marking this as “resolved” now.
