Submission is slow when using Redirection, users multi-submit

    Hi Guys,

    It _seems_ that the redirection processor slows down the submission. (turn of ajax submission helps this but it’s still bad)

    It’s so slow to submit that users end up submitting the form multiple times. I’ve added JS to disable the button when initially submitted but it doesn’t fix the submission speed.

    Is this a common issue for anyone else? It happens on 10+ sites my company uses this plugin for so it doesn’t seem to be isolated (some of the sites are on different types of servers so I don’t think it’s hardware related).

    I can’t seem to find much about the submission/redirection anywhere online so I’m not sure if it’s just badly configured on my side somehow (I have setup a plain WP install with Caldera and it seems to be an issue there too so I’m thinking this is a core issue relating specifically to the redirection processor)

    Hi Nicodhinsa,

    Thanks for using Caldera Forms, it means a lot to us.

    It’s hard to say what could be causing this. I’ve not heard other reports of the redirect processor slowing sites down, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that this is a bad configuration on your end. Without looking at your site, I would recommend some of the following potential solutions:

    1) You could turn off AJAX submissions, but then this will also turn off many of the rich Caldera Forms functionalities such as live updating magic tags, file uploads, and a handful of others. But, it would end that redirect load.

    2) Have you tried deactivating caching on your site? Sometimes things like this happen due to an overzealous caching plugin, if turning off caching solves the problem, this could begin to give you a clue as to the cause.

    Thanks for your great job of caldera!!! Unfortunately, I encounter the same problem, and neither the first nor the second step is the solution. I have checked my server also, but the problem remains. The submission of the form lasts about 10-15sec.
