I have WP installed in a /wordpress sub-folder and am using the HTaccess trick in the Codex to have it display on the root.

When I test the S2 function, I encounter 2 problems:

    1) I don’t get a confirmation email to the target address (more on that below).
    2) The redirect is set to go to the Home page but it’s going to the /wordpress sub folder and creating a 401.

For #1, I’m using a different domain name for the sender email, so could that be the problem? Or are these two issues related to the processing?

If #2 is not related to #1, then I’m guessing I can probably just use a redirect for /wordpress?

  • @bswb97,

Install an Email logging plugin and you’ll see whether the emails are generated. If that’s the case you know your emails are being blocked by that sender issue you already know about (I think it highly likely that it’s the cause).

The redirect should go to the page you should have written as part of the install process.

Follow up on the two issues:

Confirmation email generation: I used an email logger and saw that no transactions were being logged. I tried the technique with the same domain name and that still didn’t generate any transactions.

Redirect: I wrote a 404 redirect and it handled that issue. No big deal.
