• We’re using your plugin, but there is a problem with the Subscribe function. It only adds the events for the month the user is currently viewing.

So; If i look at May, and click subscribe, I get all future events for may added to my personal calendar. If someone adds an event in May, it gets added to my calendar. So far, no problems.
But; if an event gets added to June, it doesn’t appear in my personal calendar. I have to go to the site, look at June, subscribe, and then events for June appears in my personal calendar, in a separate subscription.

This seems like quite a big bug for the whole subscribe thing.

  • Hi

    Glad you reached out.

I believe you are coming across the expected behavior of the Subscribe feature. The subscribe function works off a couple of parameters to export the events, a default limit number of events to subscribe to, and the view the user is on.

For example, the Month view limits the events to the month, plus the default limit. The List view only uses the default limit.

Take a look at our Subscribing to and Exporting Events guide for more details and how to change the default limit.

Another way to alter the behaviour of the Subscribe function, is to replace the dropdown links and use links provided from using this free add-on extension Advanced iCal Export v2. This way, the subscribe link can export all events for the year plus other options.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks
    Rob

You might want to rethink the naming of “Subscribe to calendar”, since it doesn’t subscribe. I should rather be named “Add current month to my calendar”, or something like that.

I also tried Advanced iCal Export v2, and even if it adds more stuff to the calendar, this one in no subscrube either, since new events doesn’t appear in my personal calendar when I subscribe.

Is there no solution to actually subscribe to a calendar?

Hi guys, I’m facing the exact same problem on our site ??

@jonkastonka did your solution use Advanced iCal Export 2, or did you just increase the number of exported events from the default of 30?

Did you have to replace the links in the “Subscribe to Calendar” dropdown?

    Thank you very much,
    Henry

@hibberre no, I just used the default function.

    Too easy. Thanks @jonkastonka

I installed the plugin and increase the number of exported events byt it didn”t help

Hi there! We are having the same issue as the first one described. I am unclear how to fix it. Can someone please clarify? Thanks!
