Subscribe-Add to Apple Calendar-Custom repeated events missing

Custom repeated events–eg. we selected a recurrence pattern of “custom” and chose some custom dates–are not showing up on Apple calendar when people subscribe to our event calendar on Apple devices. The original event shows up on their apple calendar, but none of the custom repeating dates/events show up on their apple calendar.
Replication steps:
Go to calendar page.
Click subscribe.
Click Add to Apple Calendar.A few clarifications:
This is not an issue with subscribe-add to google calendar, only with subscribe-add to Apple calendar.
This is not an issue with regularly repeating events (eg. repeat daily, repeat weekly, repeat monthly, repeat yearly), only repeating events with custom dates.
