  • Hi,

this is not theme-related, but probably not published changes.
In the customizer, there’s an option to Publish (or Save Changes if you’re editing from WordPress.com) and to Save Draft. If you only Save Draft, the changes will appear in the preview but not on the published page. Check the customizer to be sure that these were published:

hi..cant thank you enough for your time…

I did what you said..and you were right..it wasn’t on publish,
but changing it still didn’t show my comment and subscribe boxes.
it did , however, give me the color scheme I had put in (and forgot about) a while back.

any other ideas? I have spent much time searching net for answers..cant find anything.

Hi, can you clarify what you need at this point? It sounds like you had made some changes before and when you clicked Publish they were published. Do you want to change the colors back to the default? If so head to the color settings and adjust there, then publish again and you should be set.

no..sorry if I wasn’t clear. i was just noting that his advice didn’t solve prob that I asked about..but solved another(color scheme) inadvertently.

my original problem.. . the subscribe box (chimpmail plugin) and comments box were showing in my preview, but not on actual site.
That has changed a bit..subscribe box still shows on preview..but comments box does not.neither still show on my site.

    thank you for your help!

    aaand..now im totally boggled.
neither comments or subscribe showing up on preview or website.

From what I can see, your homepage is displaying a recent post. The theme Hew, will not display the comment section on the blog page itself, only after you’ve opened the actual post. If you click on the post title and open it, you’ll see the comment section and the subscribe plugin right there at the bottom:

You can try to make the visitors click on the post title by displaying only the excerpts of the posts, using the More block. You can also post a static homepage with the subscroption button and a separate blog page.

    ugh. that seems un-good.

does not seem optimal for getting subscribers and comments. Is that pretty standard?
do you happen to know of a similar theme that would allow comments/subscribe on page?

again..cant thank you guys(gals) enough for what you do here!

Your plugin may have a widget that could be displayed in a sidebar widget area.

As for themes that show comment boxes on the main page: honestly there aren’t that many I can think of. Front pages can get really busy-looking with so many comments. A theme like P2, which is built around front-page communication, may work for you.

But I will also say, typically when people visit your site, they’re most likely clicking a link to an individual post rather than clicking to the front page.

I hope this helps a bit!

So if I understand you, you’re kinda agreeing that it’s not optimal as people will be connecting to the actual blog, skipping a title page w / subscription.
Does the MORE block fix that problem? When they click they go there before actual blog?

    Thank you!

Correct, that would require them to go to the post to read the rest.

i found static page on WordPress..is a more block a plugin?

    Hi there,

is a more block a plugin?

No, this is a block built into WordPress that allows you to truncate your blog posts so that only the first part of a post is displayed on your site’s homepage.
