Subscribe button in Ribbon not displaying after update

Hi @eastcoaststudio,

Thank you for contacting us. I tried using the Ribbon section on my local and it seems to work ok on Firefox, Chrome and Safari on Mac. Could you please give more details on what is happening? Is the button not visible at all?
Are you using the latest versions of the theme and the Orbit Fox plugin?

The button in the Ribbon section does not display
Hestia v1.1.71 and Orbit Fox installed. WP 4.9.4
I tried on Mac OS El Capitan 10.11.6 and Sierra 10.12.6 and have the same issue.

I dont have an image background on this section, so tried adding one.
Also tried removing the image that is in the Ribbon (YouTube logo) and changing the URL, but none of these things had any positive effect.

Button does not display in Chrome/Safari, but it does in Firefox on both Mac OS versions.
Any pointers would be helpful.

Are both the ‘Button Text’ and ‘Link’ fields not empty https://prnt.sc/iue78z ? Could you please let me know, maybe with a similar screenshot?

Yes, text and link fields have data in them.
I’ve tried changing these to only plain links but it does not have any effect on the issue with other browsers.

I am having the same issue, but I haven’t tried it on other browsers, just Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Neither work for me either. My text and link fields also have data in them. I’m using Orfeo, version: 1.0.5 (child theme of Hestia).

@therainforestry Took a look at your site in Firefox and the Ribbon section button does not display for me. Don’t see it being drawn in the code view either so it’s not just a browser issue in this case.

Hopefully Hestia HQ can help.

@eastcoaststudio Thanks for checking for me! I hope so too. I also noticed my background for the Ribbon section disappeared too. The only thing remaining is my text.

I’d love to hear something from the Hestia devs on this too. Seemed to be connected to the last theme update for me.

I’m sorry for the late reply. I think the problem is that you are not changing the default values for both the Button Text and Link options https://prnt.sc/j7s2de .
And those values are sane defaults ( that means that are only visible for logged in users ).

So, what you need to do is change both those values in customizer ( even though it’s a small change, like an empty page ) to be sure the values are saved in the database. This way, it should be visible for both logged in/not logged in users.

Have to admit I was skeptical, but I changed the Button Text from “Subscribe” to “Subscribe Now” and it now appears.

@therainforestry give this a try.

Resolved for me now.

This did not work for me. I can see the main text for the ribbon section , but I can’t see the button at all. Any help? I do not have a url, as I’m developing this locally.
