• If I copy the link from the Destination tab for Subscribe by Email and paste it into the browser, the page comes up — albeit slowly because it’s pulling the 1400×1400 artwork instead of downsizing it.

However, if a user clicks on the widget link of the subscribe by email in the sidebar of any post for any category feed (even the main) you get the error “Invalid Feed. Must be in XML format” even though the feed is valid and is unable to subscribe. I think it might have something to do with it taking too long to load due to the size of the artwork but I have no control over that.

I did follow the troubleshooting steps here: https://blubrry.com/support/powerpress-documentation/latest-episode-not-displayed-in-podcast-directories/ but there’s nothing that I haven’t already checked.

I haven’t checked other browsers but Chrome is the most important so…

I also looked at embedding your form but that icon is horrendous and outdated I could also make a subscribe by email button but the issue remains because I’m using the same link. It’s weird that it works when I copy and paste the link into the browser but clicking on the same link in the widget generates the error.

Here’s a sample page with the widget embedded: https://partyfavorz.com/club-fusion-april-2024-hottest-dance-tracks-to-light-up-your-playlist/

    Can this be fixed?

    Hi Keith,

The RSS feed for that podcast looks to be https://partyfavorz.com/category/club-fusion/feed/ but if I put that in my browser it redirects to https://partyfavorz.com. Can you check to make sure you don’t have a redirect set up by accident? I think that could be part of the issue – SBE goes to pull in the info for your feed, but it gets redirected to the website home page and fails.

Regarding the embedded form and icon, can you be more specific? It’s possible we overlooked something in a design and need to update it.

I don’t have to tell you that WordPress generates the feed that ends with /feed/ and PowerPress generates the feed that ends with /feed/podcast/. Both are identical and based on whatever information I add to the feed in PowerPress. Why this one feed was redirecting, I can’t say because there were no redirects for feeds that I could find — especially not back to the home page.

I went ahead and added the redirect as you suggested but that didn’t resolve the issue, nor did I expect it to. I’m just trying to hide the shortcode at the top of my post in the feed so it doesn’t show up as the description in streaming services.

I don’t use the description field for each episode because that was never a thing for many years and my podcast is 17 years old. It always pulled from the blog post, which is why I’m now having issues with the shortcode appearing as part of the description since I moved the player to the top of the post.
