• I’m using Woocommerce with Mailpoet as a newsletter plugin and have the option “Subscribe in registration form” enabled. Unfortunately the value of the option is not remebered. So if the has checked the option but makes a mistake in another field and the form is reloaded, the option is unchecked again. So I somehow need to save the POST value of the checkbox (“checked”). Is there any way how to do this in my child theme? Or any other workaround?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @gabyrau,

The WooCommerce opt-in form is NOT selected by default (form loads) and isn’t expected to be either, as clarified in the documentation here. Having this option selected by default could cause complications when newsletter/marketing email is sent. Users need to explicitly OPT-in to this option.

    Hi @saravanan,

this is not what I asked for. I do not want the the checkbox for subscription during registration selected by default. But: once the user has checked this option and the page has to be reloaded (due to an error in another field) his choice should be remembered, Unfortunately it is not and the checkbox is empty again! So users who intended to subscribe and do not remark the unchecked option will get lost.

    Hello there @gabyrau,

Thank you for getting back to us.

I understand that you’re facing an issue where the subscription checkbox doesn’t retain the user’s selection if the page reloads due to an error in another field. Currently, this indeed works as expected within the plugin; the checkbox reverts to its default state when the page is reloaded.

However, we appreciate the importance of catering to user intentions and minimizing the risk of losing subscribers unintentionally. While this feature isn’t on our immediate development roadmap, we strongly encourage our user community to suggest features that would make MailPoet more effective for your needs.

You’re most welcome to add this as a suggestion on our feedback board here. Your input is invaluable, and it helps our team to take into account new features and improvements that should be considered for the plugin. We are continuously working to enhance MailPoet, and it’s through feedback such as yours that we’re able to prioritize developments that add the most value to users like yourself.

Thank you for your engagement and for helping us improve MailPoet. We look forward to your submission and hope to deliver a solution that meets your needs in a future update.

Of course, feel free to reach out to us if you need any more help or have other questions and we’d be happy to help.
