"Subscribe to Blog via email" not working

Can you send me links to the posts that didn’t go out?

Checking, https://www.youseasonwithlove.com/recipe/oven-baked-plantains/ was successfully passed to your e-mail service’s server without error.

Could you check your spam folder and/or any other “tabs” if you use Gmail (e.g. Social, etc)?

Thank you Brandon for your response. I still did not get email notification of the plantain post (as of just now). There is nothing in my spam folder. A friend also did not get that post (as of this morning when she replied to me). When did it go out?

I’m still checking on the Tomato post. Our e-mail logs are kept relatively short amount of time, but I’m not seeing it. Running our debugging tools, everything is looking good on your site. It is possible that a brief server hiccup by your server after publishing impacted it. Have you noted anything odd lately with your site?

Thanks for your reply. I never got the Plantains post so that is weird.

I just sent out a post on gluten and I got it, so did my friend.

I wonder if the posts made using the WP Ultimate Recipe plugin are any different from a plain post….and that is why I haven’t gotten the recipe posts.

I will try another post using the Recipe plugin and see if I get it. If I do, then the issue is no longer an issue…. Let’s hope for that!

Sounds like a plan! Let me know if it happens again with that plugin and I’ll setup a testing environment to see if I can duplicate, etc.

Well, the plug in seems to be causing the problem.

On Saturday I posted this post using the recipe plugin and I did not get an email notification: https://www.youseasonwithlove.com/recipe/oven-baked-sweet-potato-yam-fries/

Today (Sunday) I posted this post and did get an email notification: https://www.youseasonwithlove.com/2014/05/25/histamine-intolerance/

Can you check into why the plugin WP Ultimate Recipe isn’t sending out email notifications of posts?

Hi Tina,

Looking at that plugin, when making a recipe, it isn’t creating a new post with the recipe, but a special “custom post type” of “recipe”.

The e-mail notifications only work for new posts of the “post” type and since the recipes aren’t in the standard type, they’re not packaged up for notification.

Is there a recipe plugin that you know about that DOES send out email notifications?? Or a way to make this one work?

Or should I do without a recipe plugin?

Obviously, I want my recipes to have email notification too….

I’m afraid I don’t know of one off the top of my head. WordPress.com introduced a shortcode that is compatible with notifications (e.g. https://en.support.wordpress.com/shortcodes/recipes/ ).

It isn’t in Jetpack yet, but we’re looking to add it in the next major version or so.

I’m having a problem with the Jetpack Subscribe to Blog via Email feature. I apologize for not being able to figure out how to start my own thread here.

The website is:https://littlefaceart.com/blog/

There are 17 subscribers to the blog, but there is a woman whose email is [email redacted] who claims she has tried to subscribe several times and never gets the email confirmation and she is not subscribed. She has checked her spam folder.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

I’m new to this too, but when I look at your blog I notice that you have 2 Subscribe to Blog via email on the right hand side. So go to your dashboard, widgets, and move the lower one away. Maybe that will make a difference?????

@kojolapower Looking at our email logs, it looks like this person first attempted to subscribe on March 18, at 19:34:25 UTC. We sent her a confirmation email, it was successfully delivered, but she never clicked on the confirmation link in that email. The email might have been ended in her spam folder, or she might have forgotten about that email.

When she attempts to subscribe again today, no new confirmation email is sent, because we already sent her one. To confirm her subscription, she can find the email back, or confirm her subscription manually here:
