• ARGH. So is there any resolution to this ongoing issue with Subscribe2 and GoDaddy hosting? A couple months back, I got it working by changing my email to the one that matches my url ([email protected]) and it started working again but now a couple months later, it has stopped. Do I need to change hosts?

    Many thanks for any help!!!

    Hi Alon:

    On my next post, the email was working again–at least as far as I could tell. I was once again getting emails for new comments and got an alert when the new post went out. I assume this means that spam flagging wasn’t the issue since everything is now back to normal. (Let me know if I’m wrong here.)

    When I talked to GoDaddy tech some days back, they told me they could see no reason why the plug-in and comment alert emails weren’t working. I don’t know if they checked for the spam issue. They didn’t mention that as a possibility.

    Anyway, I am still likely to change hosts–the fact that GoDaddy hasn’t been able to explain to me why my emails are working inconsistently and how to assure this won’t happen again–is a big problem from my end. This is the second time this issue has come up for me (and judging from the WordPress forums it’s come up for a lot of others on GoDaddy as well), and for obvious reasons, I really need to resolve it.

    Best,

    Amy

    @alon,

    I’m not sure of your position within GoDaddy but I hope you can clarify and maybe investigate for me. Please see this previous thread:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/subscribe2-not-sending-emails?replies=63

    Subscribe2 is a PHP script. It either works or is does not. The ONLY explanation as to why it works flawlessly on on server but works sporadically or not at all on another is the server configuration – or more accurately security policies on those servers.

    I host with a small hosting provider based in Glasgow, Scotland. I’ve had issues but I’ve worked with the host to resolve them. They have made concessions and I’ve adapted my script.

    As you can see of the thread I directed you to a good number of people are having issues on GoDaddy hosting which resolve on leaving. Tech support can offer no reason why emails fail to send – I’m aware they cannot support third party code but I’ve called and asked explicit questions that might explain why the emails are blocked and I get no help at all.

    So, can you add anything or investigate? Or are you happy losing customers?

    @mattyrob, Alon pointed me to this thread and the other you provided about the Subscribe2 plugin issue. I have begun investigating what it is in the emails sent using Subscribe2 that are running afoul and are not sending properly. I wanted to let you know that Go Daddy is looking into this issue!

    @amygutman, I would like to know a little bit more about this issue with Subscribe2 and when you last sent out a mailing that was not received. I sent you an email yesterday to which I hope you can reply so we may proceed with the investigation.

    @mike,

    Thanks for confirming that GoDaddy are taking this seriously and looking into this now.

    Mike @ GoDaddy, I give you props for at least trying to help people out here…but the consistent response from godaddy has been “it’s not our email server”, but then what is it? Subscribe2 worked great for 4 months, then abruptly stopped around the first of the year, and has not worked since. I’ve followed all advice coming from the subscribe2 experts, and godaddy, and it still does not work. I only have 60 some subscribers, for site for a cub scout pack, less than the 100 mark godaddy keeps quoting. The only people with issues are those on godaddy….so logic seems to dictate it’s a godaddy mail server issue. If you can solve it, i’d like to stay, if not, I have no choice but to move to another hosting provider.

    I am having exactly the same problem on two sites that I run. Subscribe2 worked great for over one year, then mysteriously stopped sending emails for my new posts for WordPress-based blogs hosted by GoDaddy.

    I’d like to know if there is a solution to keep using Subscribe2 before I rip it out and find something else.

    skabrat,

    Could you provide your domain name(s) and the times you last sent emails that were not received?

    @mattyrob and @p648admin,

    I hope we can find a solution to this issue quickly!

    My domain names are skabrat.com and lisaskabrat.com. I made new posts on 4/1/12, 4/14/12, and 4/28/12 for skabrat.com. No emails were sent for these posts from Subscribe2. As I said above, it has worked fine for many months. Nothing else has changed for my site.

    Thanks for looking into this.

    @skabrat

    Would you mind if I sent you an email to your email address on your account to get more information about how you have Subscribe2 configured?

    yes, please do.

    @skabrat,

    I have sent the email to your email account on file with Go Daddy. Thank you for your help in figuring this issue out.

    Hi @skabrat. I wanted to give you a quick update to let you know we are currently troubleshooting the issue and will let you know as soon as we know more. Thanks for your help and patience so far!

    One of my clients is having the same issue; I hesitate to suggest to them that they should move their hosting elsewhere, so I do hope that you will come up with a solution.

    Hi all, sorry for the delay. Our email admins believe they have corrected the issue with emails sent using the Subscribe2 WordPress Plugin not sending properly. Upon your next use of the plugin on your site, can you confirm that is or is not working it working properly? Thanks in advance!

    @gabe_godaddy,

    Can you give any specifics and what the issue actually was?
