    Hi,

    I’m new to blogging and am using a host (InMotion) and wordpress for my site https://chasingfog.com

    I have installed and activated Subscribe2 and have checked the settings per the FAQ and forum recommendations. However, none of my friends who have attempted to subscribe have received any sort of confirmation email. I’ve tried two of my emails as well and same story–no conf email.

    Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • @nikkifrederick,

    On looking at your site you don’t seem to be using the built-in Widget, but a standalone one. Try using the built in version of the widget which can be activated in Subscribe2->Settings under the Appearance tab.

    Thank you for the prompt response. I clicked on the “enable subscribe2 widget” box as recommended.

    I still have not had success getting the conf email sent to either of my email addresses, but perhaps this is bc i tried these two already without that being enabled?

    do i need to add the subscribe2 widget to the sidebar in addition to the subscribe2 pro widget that is already there?

    @nikkifrederick,

    You need to place the built in widget and use it in place if the stand alone third party one. You could also try to figure out why the widget you have isn’t working using the FAQ for that plugin (it isn’t my code you see):

    Okay, thanks. I will check with them. In the meantime, when I try to use the built in widget, it just says “Subscribe2” in the sidebar and does not provide a place for anyone to type and submit their email addresses.

    @nikkifrederick,

    There is only one widget on your sidebar at the moment from the Subscribe2 Widget Pro plugin so I can’t offer any advice. If you place the inbuilt widget again I can take a look.

    Ok, I placed the built in widget back.

    Thanks!!

    @nikkifrederick,

    I’ve tested the widget form on your site and it seems to be working, you should have an email registered from your own domain, but unconfirmed.

    Try removing the Widget Pro from your side bar and test again with a real email address. Also, it seems that you haven’t written a WordPress page to handle the subscriptions as suggested in the Installation instructions. Either that or it is well hidden and the widget is not configured to redirect to that page.
