• I am running WordPress 3.2.1 and PlatformPro. Things were function perfectly for 6 months and then two weeks ago Subscribe2 stopped working. We had made no changes to the site at all. We have implemented some of the steps suggested on this forum including Restrict the number of recipients per email to 1, removed the plug in and re-installed in manually. Still it is not functioning. HELP!!

    This is our site: https://www.dirtandseeds.com

    Thanks.

  • Hi Mike:

I got your email but am reluctant to send you a list of my subscribers and even more reluctant to send them a test email–I don’t feel like it’s fair to involve them in troubleshooting when they haven’t really been getting anything of value. I’m happy to send you my setup details but you need to be more specific about what it is you’re looking for and how I go about sending it to you.

    Thanks,

    Amy

    @amy,

The list of subscribers would allow us to check the logs at the time you send that test email for each message that is supposed to send and check why each is failing. Let me check with our admins in the morning and see if I there is another way to check the logs.

Okay, I am still not clear on what settings you need and how I go about sending them to you.

Also, FYI, my email problems go beyond the Subscribe2 plug-in–I am once again not getting email alerts when someone comments on my blog. This is exactly what happened before when I had the same problem: Both the Subscribve2 and comment emails went down together, returned together, and now are once again gone together.

@amygutman and @p648admin just wanted to let you guys know that we are currently testing the Subscribe2 issue. Thanks so much for your patience.

Any updates? FYI, I am STILL not getting email alert/notifications when someone leaves a comment on my blog. Again, this is obviously related to the Subscribe2 issue but also a sign that the problem extends beyond plug-ins.

Hi all, sorry for the delay. Our email admins believe they have corrected the issue with emails sent using the Subscribe2 WordPress Plugin not sending properly. Upon your next use of the plugin on your site, can you confirm that is or is not working it working properly? Thanks in advance!

After removal of the spam flag we found that some people were still reporting issues. However, after further testing across multiple installations of WordPress + Subscribe2, we found that changing the setting “Restrict the number of recipients per email to (0 for unlimited):” to 1 instead of 0 corrected the issue for instances that had still not functioned properly. Because there are many variables to WordPress and 3rd party plug-ins this workaround may not work in all cases.

Mike or Gabe, I have tried the requested setting change with no positive results. Do I need to contact GoDaddy to check Spam settings specific to my account?

    Hi Johnny,

Can you post the domain here so we can take a look?

    Hello everyone
I’ve got this problem too since I updated the subscribe2 plugin.

    I’m hosted by bluehost.

But I think that the problem is not with Hosting (bluehost) because I faced this problem when I updated the plugin.

    Please help me,

    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings and Hello,

Apparently, this problem is bigger than I imagined.

First, I have the same problem such as unable to send email other than myself. Myself being [ email redacted ]

My WordPress; 3.4.1, and Subscribe2; 8.4, is current.
The setting for email is 0 meaning unlimited.

Problem noted: My host and others have email qty limitations such as no. of emails per hour or per day. Currently, there is no blockage on my host; ipage, but uncertain of google. Since, I am sending a large group of emails; >10,000, then some modification is required.

If there exists some method to send and validate the email address in a batch processing mode such as qty/hr then this would be great.

Please help and thanks in advance.

    Just a thought,

    Has anyone used google groups?

Concept: Place all emails in one group. Then when the email is send to the group, then email should go to all recipients within the group.

    Thoughts on solving the problem.

    Another thought,

Of course, Subscribe2 could create a group whereby the list of subscribers can be placed in the group.

When I use send email to the number of public subscribers, I receive the message “Message Send,” however, the message is only send to the email posted within the user group such as myself while others do not receive the message.

Hopefully, a solution or contact soon acknowledging the Subscribe2 problem with a software update.
