• Hi,

    I’m using Subscribe2 version 6.1 for a client’s company blog. The e-mail notifications were working fine when sending an e-mail for each post.

    But we need to send daily or weekly digests, but that function isn’t working at all, and nobody is receiving e-mails and my client is pissing me off.

    Is there any way to work this around? Any settings? Any update?

    Please help me here.

    Thanks!

  • @rluquis,

    The periodic emails in Subscribe2 rely upon the psudo-cron functionality built into WordPress. There are issues with this on low traffic sites (i.e. those in development) and also on some server configurations.

    Get a hold of the WP-Crontrol plugin and see if that helps you identify whether the cron events are running at all.

    I follow your recommendations and proceeded to install WP-Control. After installing the plug-in I hit Do Now on the hook s2_digest_cron and nothing happened. :/

    This is frustrating…

    Thanks!

    @rluquis,

    Okay, but are the cron events running as scheduled according to what you are seeing in WP-Crontrol.

    Pressing Run Now won’t work as Subscribe2 checks if the email is due and it likely isn’t yet.

    I’m having a similar issue and when I hit the Resend Digest button, it gives me the message ‘The Digest Notification email contained no post information. No email was sent’ even though 6 posts had just been completed.

    My cron jobs for everything else on my site so not sure what else to try.

    @gooma2,

    The resend button tries to collects posts that should have sent with the previous email. If you made 6 new posts after this email was scheduled they should go into the next email.
