• I like Mailpoet 3. I am facing an issue though.

I have many subscribers in a list, out of which some 20% (but many enough) are unconfirmed. We did a complete overhaul of the website and I have replaced the old site with a new version. I need to import my subscribers back into Mailpoet on the new site but I need to keep the list status correct. I want to keep the unconfirmed people in the list also because some are still confirming after having received a re-sent confirmation request email.

I exported the subscribers from the old site and I’m now trying to import but Mailpoet won’t let me correctly set the status. Every subscriber becomes Subscribed even if originally Unconfirmed.

In the exported CSV in LIST STATUS column everyone had ‘Subscribed’ value, while in GLOBAL STATUS the subscribed/unconfirmed status was listed for everyone. However, Mailpoet did not read the list correctly. Upon import, everyone appeared Subscribed. I ‘hacked’ the csv and changed the order of the 2 columns and also their titles. So LIST STATUS now showed subscribed/unconfirmed. At import preview, Mailpoet showed the correct status for each but after import, the situation was the same: Everyone has Subscribed status.

To set their status to unconfirmed as in my old site, do I need to manually edit everyone?! Or is the program misbehaving?

    Thank you.

@ravishi Can you do me a favor? Don’t post emails, even with the names removed here.

If you want to summarize what you received then that would be good. But don’t copy and paste emails here as that’s greatly frowned upon.

NOTE: I’m not accusing you of any ill will. But emails have been the source of much abuse here in the past even from well meaning people such as yourself.

You’re right, Jan, in the sense that there was no intention to hurt anybody. Please clear your frown and relax the attitude ?? I merely thought the emails mirrored more than the actual information about the functionality of the plugin.

I personally don’t like this limitation of the plugin and to a lack of explanation I thought my best response would be to share the conversation.

To anyone reading this, in short, the support request was immediately picked up by the Mailpoet Team when I emailed the same request to them after this post was left unanswered for a week. The answer to the question, in two emails, was that the plugin does not support changing the status of the subscribers in bulk.

Mailpoet actually does change the status however, but only to ‘subscribed’. You cannot import back an exported list and keep the ‘unconfirmed’ status of your subscribers.

Thank you for your responses and keep up the good work with the Mailpoet 3 plugin. Meanwhile I’ll find workarounds for the limitations that come with it.
