Hi, are you referring to one of the Brute Force feature like Rename Login Page? If you are and you need to allow other members to log in, they will also need to know the secret word. Which in my opinion defies the purpose of security unless of course you personally know these members and or they are other administrators of your site.

If your site is a membership site and you want to use this security feature and at the same time keep invaders from login, then I suggest you use a membership plugin.

I think a good membership plugin will do a better job to manage your members and at the same time allow you to use this great security feature that this plugin provides.

Thank you. You got it. The whole purpose of renaming is to prevent repeated malicious attacks. We have been hit hard.

So I will try your suggestion but it seems they all default to the /wp-login.php sequence. If it’s not there or renamed then these membership plugins don’t seem to work. I will give it a try.

Many thanks for a straight forward answer.

Hi, the membership plugin that I suggested above works independently from WordPress. It will allow you to add members to the plugins membership list and it will not affect the rename page with the secret word. I have this plugin on my test site and it works very well ??

thank you again. It works to an extent. It interferes with some spam plug-ins and the log in sequence is quirky and does not work well. It will need further tweaking. But I really thank you for the suggestion.

You are most welcome. You can always create a support thread. The developers will help you as much as they can with any issues related to the Simple Membership plugin.

If you don’t require any more help with this ticket can you mark it as resolved.

    Thank you
