Subscriber popup appears instantly instead of ‘On Exit’

    I’ve configured a subscriber popup on the mailchimp site as per the instructions.
    It’s configured to be shown ‘On Exit’.
    B
    ut on Firefox and Edge browsers the popup appears instantly.
    It’s only Chrome that shows the popup on Exit.

    Is there anything I can do about this?

    I’m testing this on a staging site not accessible to the public.
    I’m using the theme Hestia Pro.

  • @kcaluwae Are you using Jetpack’s MailChimp Subscriber pop-up widget for this?

    For testing purposes, could you try to set the timing to something like 10 seconds to see if that works as expected?

    Yes I’m using the widget.

    I’ve tested with 20seconds and that works. (in all 3 browsers)

    Could you please test this with one of the default themes, like Twenty Seventeen, to see if that fixes this? Thanks!

    I tested with twenty seventeen. The behavior is exactly the same. It seems like there’s a slight delay (maybe because the theme takes some time to load) but the popup appears almost instantly when I just start scrolling downwards. (The cursor is still on the top image.) No difference between browsers.
